Listen Up: The Notion
Posted on June 19th, 2012
You may have spotted them around town already playing at venues like Hard Rock Café or 12th and Porter. We’re talking about Nashville’s hottest upcoming rock band, The Notion. With their debut album due to release this summer, Music City is already buzzing to hear more from this rockin’ trio.
With a 90’s grunge inspired sound and a hard rock flare, The Notion gives fans a high-energy live show packed with catchy hooks, loud guitars and punchy bass. Mijo, the bands lead guitarist and frontman commands the stage with his raw lyrics and gritty vocals. But don’t think Mijo steals all the attention; Lauren, the bands pink dreadlock rockin’ bass player dominates the show with her catchy riffs while “The Ocho” brings it on the drums with his aggressive beats. If you don’t find yourself bobbing your head and jumping up and down during their show, something is seriously wrong.
“We’ve worked so hard on this album and we can’t wait for our fans to check it out and hear what we’ve been pouring ourselves into,” says Mijo. “We’re bringing rock n’ roll back to what it used to be, real, raw and all about the music.”
They’re a little Nirvana, a little Foo Fighters and a whole lot of grunge rock goodness. With an undeniable chemistry and all the right ingredients, this 3-piece band will blow you away with their huge sound.
The Notion will continue to tour throughout the summer while they wrap up the final touches of the album. In the meantime you can take a sneak peak of their music on Reverb Nation and follow them along on Facebook for all the latest tour dates, updates and more.
